Publicly claims to be Canadian

Says so, out loud

Canada claims them back

Claimed, enthusiastically

Fun fact

Named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2025 for her contributions to Canadian arts and advocacy for diversity in the entertainment industry.

The verdict

Moved from London, England to Birmingham at five, then to Oshawa, Ontario at eleven, and never looked back. Graduated from Ryerson, built her career on Canadian TV (hello, The Young and the Restless years filmed in LA aside), and earned the Order of Canada for her work in the arts and activism. Canada claimed her early and she's been giving back ever since, eh.
