Born in New Brunswick, raised in PEI, and spent his life barnstorming every small town from coast to coast with his beat-up guitar and stomping board. He famously returned his Juno Awards to protest the lack of Canadian content on radio, refused to perform outside Canada for years, and wrote the national anthem of hockey. Canada doesn't just love him — he IS Canada.
