Fun fact

Before acting he played junior hockey for the Listowel Cyclones and the Strathroy Rockets, where one of his teammates was future two-time Stanley Cup champion Jeff Carter. He then played Don Cherry — twice — in a pair of CBC movies, winning a Gemini for it. The family sawmill burned down in 2018.
